Chevy Chase, MD, 1-28-2014 – Davies Consulting, LLC, a strategic and management consulting firm with extensive expertise in the electric utility industry, announced today that Miki Deric has joined the Board of Directors of the GridWise Alliance, a coalition of broad and diverse stakeholders advocating for the development of a smarter electricity grid.  Mr. Deric is a Partner at Davies Consulting with nearly 20 years of strategic consulting and change management experience in the utility industry.

GridWise Alliance is engaging leaders of industry, government, and communities to bring smart grid innovation to fruition and support a sustainable energy future for the U.S.  In 2014, the Alliance and U.S. Department of Energy Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability are hosting a series of visioning workshops, THE FUTURE OF THE GRID: Evolving to Meet America’s Needs. These workshops will culminate with a Washington, DC-based Executive Summit to develop an industry-driven vision of the nation’s future electricity grid.  The workshops underscore the collaborative nature of GridWise Alliance as a forum where utilities, tech companies, manufacturers, and other stakeholders come together to share ideas and concepts.

“GridWise Alliance brings together stakeholders from every link in the energy supply chain,” Deric said.  “I’m honored and excited to be a part of this coalition of forward-thinking leaders who are taking an innovative approach to modernization in a forum that integrates policy with the practical realities of managing the 21st century grid.”

The dynamic industry dialogue fostered through GridWise Alliance produces deliberate and well-thought-out resolutions to key issues.  Davies Consulting has been an active member, offering business expertise and regulatory insight as part of the collaborative process since 2010.

“The diversity of our Board of Directors reflects the range of stakeholders within the GridWise Alliance.  These stakeholders are dedicated to modernizing our nation’s electric system,” said Becky Harrison, President and CEO of the GridWise Alliance. “I look forward to working with the new directors to continue our thought leadership, education, and advocacy on critical grid modernization issues at the federal and state levels.”
